Davin Joseph Injury: Bucs Scrambling For Options

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are scrambling after the season-ending injury to guard Davin Joseph. Coach Greg Schiano has at least three players in mind that could step in for Joseph. They include rookie Jamon Meredith, Ted Larsen, who replaced Joseph when he was initially injured, and Derek Hardman.

We'll have different guys in there. (Derek) Hardman, Larsen, Meredith. We're going to play a bunch of guys at guard and then we'll make use of that film in part of our evaluation process. We have time right now before we have to make a final decision, so we're going to utilize that time

Larsen has the most starting experience of the three options, having started 14 games the last two seasons. He is also the only lineman on the team that can backup the center.

Meredith is primarily a tackle, but thinks he can be able to transition to guard if the need arises.

I can play everything except for center. I definitely think I'm versatile. I can pretty much bounce around anywhere and hold my own. I played a little bit (of guard) in Pittsburgh, but not much in the games. Basically at practice. I played it my senior year in college. I definitely have to (prove it).
