Buccaneers Vs. Panthers: Game Officially Blacked Out

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers season opener against the Carolina Panthers has officially been blacked out, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times.

The Buccaneers were about 9,000 tickets short of the 85 percent threshold needed to remove blackout restrictions last Friday, but were unable to sell enough tickets by three days before the game. In an effort to boost sales, the team was offering fans reduced-price tickets, free parking and discounted concessions.

The game will now be unable to be viewed within a 75-mile radius of the Tampa Bay area.

According to Stroud, the Buccaneers did not release how many tickets are still available for Sunday's game, which is scheduled to kickoff at 4:25 p.m. ET.
