Florida Panthers defenseman Dmitry Kulikov and Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Victor Hedman will both be on the ice in Wednesday's KHL schedule. Each are playing for teams in playoff contention.
Kulikov is representing Lokomotiv, and his team takes on SKA at 11:45 a.m. ET. This is a meeting of top teams, as SKA currently has the second-most points in the West Conference, while Lokomotiv has the third-most. Despite SKA having six more points, Lokomotiv is No. 2 in the conference thanks to their status as a division leader.
Hedman's Barys squad faces Severstal at 11 a.m. ET. Both teams are third in their respective divisions. Barys has 30 points to Severstal's 29, but has played one extra game. Barys is currently sixth in the East Conference, and eight teams from each conference make the playoffs.
Both teams will take the ice again this weekend. Barys plays on Friday, while Lokomotiv competes on Saturday. A full schedule can be found at KHL's official site.
