Sun Sports and the Tampa Bay Lightning have announced the lineup of games scheduled to air on Sun Sports this coming season.
The 65-game Sun Sports television schedule includes 32 away and 33 home matchups, and begins with the Lightning’s regular season home opener vs. the Atlanta Thrashers on Saturday, Oct. 9, at 7:30pm.
Rick Peckham returns for his 15th season as Sun Sports’ Lightning play-by-play announcer and analyst Bobby "The Chief" Taylor, in his 17th year, will join him in the booth. Sun Sports’ Paul Kennedy returns for his 10th season as rinkside reporter and pre- and postgame host. Todd Kalas will also host select pre- and postgame shows and Angela Jacobs will serve as feature reporter. For the third consecutive year, Lightning on-air contributors for pre-game, intermission, and post-game coverage on Sun Sports will be former Lightning players Dave Andreychuk and Chris Dingman, who will split those duties on all home game telecasts this season.
All games are scheduled to be produced and distributed in high-definition. Home games will be preceded by the half-hour LIGHTNING LIVE pregame show and all games will include LIGHTNING LIVE postgame coverage from site.
The popular INSIDE THE LIGHTNING series returns and will feature player profiles and episodes offering behind-the-scenes access to other aspects of the team and its operations -- all designed to bring the fans closer to their favorite team.
