Sutter Resigns; Former Lightning GM Taking Over Reigns In Calgary is reporting that Calgary Flames executive vice president and general manager Darryl Sutter has resigned and former Tampa Bay Lightning general manager Jay Feaster has been appointed acting general manager, giving him full control of all day-to-day hockey operations for the club.

Feaster served as the general manager of the Tampa Bay Lightning from February 2002 until resigning in 2008. During his time with the Lightning, they won consecutive Southeast Division titles in 2003 and 2004 and the Stanley Cup in 2004. He was named NHL Executive of the Year by The Sporting News that season. Prior to his stint in Tampa Bay, he was the president of the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League where he was named the AHL Executive of the Year in 1997 after the Bears won the Calder Cup that season. He joined the Calgary organization this past July as assistant general manager to Sutter.
