On Friday, the Lightning cut three players (Carter Ashton, Brett Connolly and Richard Panik, all right wingers), bringing the number of players on the preseason roster from 52 to 49. Today was the big slice as 21 more players were cut. This brings the number down to 28 as the team continues preparations for the upcoming season with exhibition games coming up against the Florida Panthers this Friday and Saturday.
