A little over two weeks ago, the Tampa Bay Lightning suffered a beating on the road, falling 5-2 against the Philadelphia Flyers on Dec. 10. Tuesday night, the Bolts will be looking to avoid a similar fate when the Flyers enter the St. Pete Times Forum 7:30 p.m. rematch.
The last time these two teams met, Philadelphia made good use of the power play, scoring twice in five opportunities with the man advantage. For that reason, expect Tampa to put some extra focus on stopping their opponents' special teams.
The Lightning will also try to generate more shots than in the last matchup, when the Flyers earned a 32-19 edge in shots on goal.
At 21-9-4 and second place in the Eastern Conference's Atlantic Division, Philadelphia won't be a tough nut to crack. If the Bolts can contain on the penalty kill and create some more offense, though, they should have a better shot than the last time out.
Notes: Danny Briere and Brayden Schenn are returning to Philadelphia's lineup for this game.
