There has been no news yet on whether Vinny Lecavalier will be playing in tonight’s game against the Montreal Canadiens. After suffering a vague “mid-body injury” in Wednesday’s game against the Boston Bruins, Lecavalier has been listed as day-to-day.
Injuries have hit the Lightning hard recently, and there are multiple players that are question marks going into today’s game. As Raw Charge reports:
While local media has gone to the dogs with inanities, the health of the Lightning roster remains in flux: Marc-Andre Bergeron is probable for tonight’s game, Vincent Lecavalier is a game-time decision (but left the ice early during the morning skate), Steve Downie is doubtful and did not participate in the team’s morning skate. Add to it Mike Lundin and Ryan Malone are still on injured reserve and other guys are playing hurt… And you have a nice helping of adversity before the puck ever drops.
Injuries affect every team, but with a bit over a month left in the season, the Lightning need to keep playing at a high level if they want to make the playoffs. How they play in the face of all these injuries could be a huge factor down the stretch.
