Dallas Stars left wing Loui Eriksson, Detroit Red Wings defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom and Tampa Bay Lightning right wing Martin St. Louis are the three finalists for the 2010-11 Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, which is awarded "to the player adjudged to have exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability," the National Hockey League announced today.

I've only started watching the Lightning this season, but it's tough not to become enamored with St. Louis. He's a great player and skates hard every day - not to mention he'll play through a double root canal - but he also seems very well respected by players across the league. He's had a big hand in the Lightnings' Cut for a Cure campaign, as they raise money for pediatric cancer research, and he's one of the main reasons the Lightning have lasted even this long in the playoffs.

This is St. Louis's sixth time being nominated for the Lady Byng award, and he won the award for the first time last season. Congratulations to St. Louis for another nomination.
