Tampa Bay Lightning Fans Make A Human 'Bolt', Send Off Lightning In Style

The Lightning have gone farther in the NHL playoffs than many people expected, and the Tampa Bay area is going more and more Bolt-crazy recently. There are signs springing up around the area, more and more people are watching the games, and it's rekindling an interest in a team that'd lost a bunch of fans due to its old ownership. This playoff run has done wonders for the Bolts' fanbase.

In a lot of cities, as teams leave or arrive at the airport during the playoffs, fans will often show up at the airport to send them off or welcome them home. As Clark wrote earlier, the Lightning had invited fans to meet up today to form a human lightning bolt at the Tampa International Airport.

So this morning, fans dressed in blue and met up at 10:30am for their sendoff for the team as they departed for Boston and Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Bruins.

Considering all the trash talk about Lightning fans recently, this is a pretty awesome display of support. Tampa Bay may be an off-beat location for a hockey fanbase, but that doesn't mean Bolts fans don't exist.
