Actual Lightning In The St. Pete Times Forum

Eduardo Encina of the St. Pete Times had a nice update this morning on the St. Pete Times Forum's 35 million dollar renovations. Construction is in full gear with the Tampa Bay Storm's season finishing up last week, and CEO Tod Leiweke gave Encina some nuggest on what fans can look forward to next year like cupholders for all seats, an 11,000 sq ft party deck being built on the roof of the west side of the stadium, and Tesla coils on the scoreboard. Wait, what!?!

Another signature addition will be Tesla coils on either side of the scoreboard that will shoot lightning 25 feet.

HOLY CRAP!

I'm not a Lightning fan, but I might drive across the state to catch a few games just for this alone. Unless the Winnipeg Jets find a way to get a F-35 in their new barn, this will pass the pirate ship at Raymond James Stadium for the best goal-scoring celebration in all of professional sports.
