Lightning Vs. Jets Final Score: Tampa Bay's Late Rally Not Enough, Go Down 4-3

The Tampa Bay Lightning found themselves in a hole early against the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday night, ending the first period down 2-0. Andrew Ladd picked up his 20th goal of the season to give the Jets an early 1-0 lead, assisted by Bryan Little and Blake Wheeler. Later on in the first period, the Jets pushed their lead to 2-0 with a goal from Tanner Glass.

The second period went just as bad as the first for the Lightning as it looked like they were headed for blowout city. Evander Kane picked up a power play goal, assisted by Dustin Byfuglien and Andrew Ladd to give the Jets a 3-0 lead, but then shortly after Dustin Byfuglien picked up another power play goal for the Jets to give Winnipeg a 4-0 lead entering the final period of play.

The Lightning finally got started in the third period, scoring three goals, but it was too little too late to overcome the 4-0 deficit they found themselves in early. Steve Stamkos scored his 43rd goal of the season on a power play to finally get Tampa Bay on the scoreboard. Martin St. Louis also picked up a goal in the closing minutes to make the score a bit nicer in the box score, as Tampa Bay goes down 4-3.
