When you think of how this season started for Texas manager Ron Washington with an admission of a failed cocaine test in 2009, it is kind of hard to believe that, for one, he still has a job, and two that he could be on the verge of an American League Manager of the Year award for the way his team played this season.
He will be at a disadvantage here, though, as this is his first taste of playoff action. Not that Joe Maddon has much more experience, but he did guide his team to a World Series appearance in 2008.
