Remember Scott Kazmir? Well, he's pitching tonight, Wednesday night, for the Escogido Lions in the Dominican Winter League (hat tip @Enrique_Rojas1).
↵Here's an interview with Kaz before his start (half in Spanish, half in English):
↵↵Once called "Kid K," Kazmir was for a long time the only bright spot in an otherwise bleak Tampa Bay Rays (then Devil Rays) pitching staff.
↵There were four years, 2005 through 2008, where Scott produced genuinely solid results and was easily the ace of the staff. A first round draft pick for the New York Mets in 2002, Kazmir fell apart somewhere between 2008 and 2009. Keenly sensing the young pitchers' depreciation, the Rays traded Kaz — who had become "BB Boy" at that time — to the Los Angeles Angels for Sean Rodriguez, Alex Torres, and Matt Sweeney.
↵Kazmir will only be 28 next year and thereby should have enough time to mount a legitimate comeback attempt.
↵Here's hoping for the best tonight!
