Since being called up to the majors in an odd, trade-rumor-inducing series of events on Friday night, Desmond Jennings has torn apart the majors. Sure, it's only been two games, but Jennings has gone 2-3 in both of them, walked twice, stolen two bases, and hit three extra base hits.
↵I know this is only a two game sample -- and thus, it's meaningless in terms of projecting the future -- but these past few days have given Jennings arguably the best entrance to the majors for any position player in Rays history. Check it out:
↵Evan Longoria: 2-6, two walks, no extra base hits
B.J. Upton: 1-6, one walk, no extra base hits
Rocco Baldelli: 4-13, no walks, one double
Carl Crawford: 2-7, no walks, no extra base hits, one stolen base
Desmond Jennings: 4-6, two walks, two hit-by-pitches, three extra base hits, two stolen bases
Desmond Jennings, destroyer of worlds.
