The Tampa Bay area is a happening place for sports. There are few metropolitan areas in the country that boast three professional sports franchises, but the Tampa Bay area is one of them. Between the Rays, Buccaneers, and Lightning -- not to mention the Rowdies and Storm -- there's always some sports action going on locally.
Not only that, but these teams are incredibly fun to follow; we're in a golden age for Tampa Bay sports. All three major franchises are well run, competitive, and youth-focused, and should be major players in their sport for years in the future. If you're living in Tampa Bay and you love sports, you couldn't ask for a better trio of sports franchises to follow.
As a result, we're starting a new feature here: This Week in Tampa Bay Sports. It can sometimes be difficult to keep up on what every team is doing, so we'll be posting a schedule each Monday on all the upcoming events that week. We'll be reporting on these games and events as the week goes along, and then posting a weekly recap in this Stream.
