Angels Vs. Rays Final Score: David Price Shuts Out Halos For Tampa Win

The Tampa Bay Rays improved to 6-1 at the Trop on Tuesday night behind a dominating pitching performance from ace David Price, who mowed through the Angels lineup. Price worked a tidy nine innings, giving up only five hits and striking out six. It was the second shutout of his career, with all five hits only singles. The Angels never really mounted a threat, as Price cruised to his third win of the season and Tampa's third straight at home.

On offense, the Rays did their damage via the longball, with four solo homers off Anaheim starter Ervin Santana. Desmond Jennings got things started in the first, taking a 3-1 Santana pitch to over the wall in left to lead off the game. That would be all they would need, but Luke Scott would continue his solid first month with his fourth dinger of the season. B.J. Upton and Carlos Pena would get in on the action as well before Santana was chased.

The Rays will look to take the series on Wednesday with Jeremy Hellickson squaring off against C.J. Wilson.
