This weekend at Camden Yards, the Tampa Bay Rays (20-14) have discovered what all of baseball is just figuring out: the 2012 Baltimore Orioles (22-12) are legit. In a weekend series that was a battle for AL East supremacy, Baltimore has taken the first two games from Tampa Bay and looks for the sweep on Sunday.
The Rays will send Big Game James Shields (5-1, 3.23 ERA) to the mound, looking to steal one victory in the series and stop a three-game slide by Joe Maddon's club. In 10 career starts at Camden Yards, the righty is 5-1 with a 3.44.
Baltimore will counter with Jake Arrieta (2-3, 4.23 ERA). Arrieta defeated Tampa Bay twice last season, but has struggled mightily in his last three home starts, going 0-2 with a 6.75 ERA.
