The Chicago White Sox beat the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday, in a game that featured a pair of outstanding pitching performances. The Rays will try and get a game back on Tuesday night behind James Shields.
Shields has six wins on the season. He struck out 10 in his last outing, a no-decision against the Blue Jays. Matt Moore had the same number of strike outs in Monday's game. Shields has allowed 10 runs in his last three starts.
Opposing Shields is Philip Humber. The Chicago right-hander was roughed up in his last outing, giving up five runs on six hits and three walks to the Twins. Humber has been punctuated solid stretches of work with meltdowns like that, twice giving up more than eight runs in a game this season.
The game starts at 7:10 p.m. Eastern from Tropicana Field. Fans can watch the game on Sun Sports.
