The Tampa Bay Rays have a half-game lead over the Yankees in the American League East, thanks in large part to a 10-game home winning streak. That home winning streak came to an end on Saturday with an extra innings loss to the Oakland Athletics.
On the bump to lead Sunday's rebound is Matt Moore. The rookie lefty pitched a five-inning gem in his last start, on Tuesday, striking out seven and allowing just one run to another AL West opponent, the Mariners. Moore is 1-1 for the season with a 4.20 ERA.
Tommy Milone gets the start for Oakland. The Red Sox smacked around Milone for three home runs and seven earned runs in his last outing. Despite the ugly results from Monday, Milone still owns a 3.69 ERA and a 1.01 WHIP in five starts for the A's.
The game starts at 1:40 p.m. at Tropicana Field. It will be broadcast on the Sun Sports Network, and local fans can catch the game on WDAE 620 and WAMA 1550.
