Rays designated hitter Luke Scott has been on the disabled list since June 15, but said he still doesn't feel like he's able to repeat good swings. So Tampa is sending Scott to Durham for a two-game rehab assignment and plan to reevaluate him after that.

There had been speculation that Scott would be ready to be activated when the team traveled to Kansas City on Monday to begin a three-game series with the Royals, but it doesn't look like that will happen.
Scott is hitting .220 in 51 games this season with nine home runs, 35 RBIs and 39 hits.
"Right now, I just want to get to where I'm capable of doing a good job," Scott said on Saturday.
