In his first career start on Wednesday, Rays pitcher Chris Archer did very well for himself allowing just one earned run and three hits. Despite the strong performance, Archer earned a loss against Stephen Strasburg and the Nationals. With Jeremy Hellickson set to return to play on Saturday, his start against the Royals on Tuesday will likely be Archer's last before heading back to the minor leagues.
However, the 23-year old can continue to make a solid name for himself when he faces off against Bruce Chen. After losing four consecutive starts early in the season, Chen has settled in and is fresh off a victory in his last start against the Astros on Wednesday. The left hander pitched into the fifth inning, allowing just one earned run and five hits.
The first pitch is set to be thrown at 8:10 p.m. ET and be televised on FOX Sports Kansas City as well as Sun Sports.
