Mariners Vs. Rays Recap: Blake Beaven Shuts Down Tampa Bay In 2-1 Win

The Tampa Bay Rays suffered their second consecutive loss to the Seattle Mariners Sunday, as Mariners starter Blake Beaven shut down the Rays over eight innings to lead them to a 2-1 victory.

Beaven allowed just one run on four hits in those eight innings while striking out five while walking zero.

The Mariners broke the scoring open early with an RBI double, which was answered to in the bottom of the first by an RBI single by the Rays' Matt Joyce. The Mariners took the lead for good in the top of the second, when Brendan Ryan doubled in a run, allowing Seattle to coast to the victory.

Matt Moore pitched very well for the Rays, picking up a tough loss. He also went eight innings, allowing two runs on just five hits while striking out seven and walking none.
