The Tampa Bay Rays lost their last game against the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday, putting them behind the Orioles in the wild card chase. The Rays have a chance to regain some ground on Friday as they open a three game series with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

The Rays will send pitcher Alex Cobb (4-7, 5.05 ERA) to the mound Friday night. In his last start for the Rays on July 21 against the Seattle Mariners, Cobb went only two innings, having to leave the game after taking a grounder from Ichiro Suzuki off his leg, allowing two runs on three hits.

The Angels will counter with pitcher Dan Haren (7-8, 4.76 ERA). In Haren's last start on July 22 against the Texas Rangers, he went six innings allowing two runs on three hits in a win.

Friday's game is scheduled for a 10:05 p.m. first pitch. Television coverage will be provided by Sunshine Sports Network. Radio coverage will be provided by WDAE 620 AM.
