Rays Vs. Indians: Luke Scott At First Base For Series Opener

For the first time in 2012, Luke Scott will be playing in the field for the Tampa Bay Rays. He's starting the series opener against the Cleveland Indians at first base after playing every game this season at DH. Carlos Pena, the regular first baseman, is still in the lineup as a DH.

Scott started 10 games at first base for the Baltimore Orioles last season, but has not been a regular everyday first baseman at any point in his career. Scott is in a terrible hitting funk, and how playing the field will get him out of that is anyone's guess, but anything's worth a shot at this point.
