Rays Vs. Indians: Tampa Bay Drops Third Game Of Weekend Set 7-3

After splitting the first two games of their four-game weekend series against the Cleveland Indians (44-40), the Tampa Bay Rays fell on Saturday night at Progressive Field, 7-3.

The Rays (44-41) found themselves in a hole early, as starter Matt Moore surrendered three runs in the bottom of the second and two in the third. The left-hander would last just four and two-third innings, giving five earned runs, five hits and five walks compared to three strikeouts.

Though trailing 5-0 after three, Tampa Bay did get some offensive production later on in the contest. Luke Scott launched a two-run homer in the fourth, to bridge the deficit to three, but they would score just one run over the remaining innings.

The series finale is scheduled for tomorrow in Cleveland at 1:05 p.m. EST.
