Rays Vs. Angels: L.A. Lights Up Alex Cobb, Leads 8-0 After 3

After winning combined 19-3 score against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the first two games of a four-game series, the Tampa Bay Rays entered Saturday hoping to continue their momentum. Instead, their play has seen a reversal of fortune, as the Angels lead 8-0 after three innings.

Alex Cobb yielded all eight runs for the Rays in 2.2 innings, all earned, as the Angels rapped out 12 hits against him. Mike Trout is 3-for-3 with three RBI, and Torii Hunter, Albert Pujols, and Kendrys Morales are all 2-for-2, as Cobb failed to record an out against any of the Angels' first four hitters. Trout led off the game with a homer, and Pujols swatted a two-run shot in the second.

Meanwhile, the Rays offense has been quiet, with a B.J. Upton single and an Evan Longoria walk producing the only baserunners of the night. And Upton was promptly caught stealing after his appearance on the basepaths.
