Rays Vs. Angels Game Preview: Matt Moore Goes For Sweep In Anaheim

After the Rays and Angels combined to score 18 Saturday night, runs could be harder to come by in Anaheim Sunday afternoon, with Matt Moore and Zack Greinke facing off in the series finale.

Moore (9-7, 3.60 ERA) came away with a no-decision in his most recent outing, striking out nine Mariners while allowing just one run on six hits. A pretty amazing stat from MLB.com: Moore has not allowed a home run his his last 53 2/3 innings (eight starts).

Greinke, meanwhile, needs to improve quickly if he is to justify the Angels' prospect outlay to acquire him. He's posted a 5.54 ERA since heading to Southern California. He's allowed four earned runs or more in each of his past three starts, including six in seven innings August 3 against the White Sox.

Small sample size alert: Rays third baseman Evan Longoria has just two hits in 16 career at-bats against Greinke, with one home run.

First pitch from Anaheim is scheduled for 3:35 pm ET. The game will be televised on Sun Sports in Florida.
