Rays Vs. Orioles Final Score: Rays Lose In 14 Innings, Swept By Orioles

The Tampa Bay Rays suffered yet another extra innings loss as they were swept by the Baltimore Orioles, losing 3-2 in 14 innings on Thursday afternoon.

Manny Machado was the hero for the Orioles today, bringing home Adam Jones with a two-out RBI single off of Chris Archer.

Jeff Keppinger got the Rays on the board in the top of the fourth, sending a deep fly ball to center that allowed Ben Zobrist to score from third and give Tampa Bay an early 1-0 lead.

Baltimore grabbed the lead in the bottom of the seventh after a fielding blunder by Wade Davis, which allowed Machado to safely reach first base. After a walk and a strike out, Davis' error proved costly when Taylor Teagarden sent a double in the right field gap that brought home Machado and Robert Andino to make it 2-1 for the Orioles.

Tampa Bay tied things back up at two runs a piece in the eighth when Zobrist was able to reach on an infield single that scored Desmond Jennings and forced the game into extra innings.

The Rays will be back in action on Friday, when they take on the New York Yankees in New York City.
