UCF still in position for C-USA title run

Central Florida has a lot to play for despite losses to Ohio State and Missouri.

The Central Florida Knights have been competitive in the two games they've played against BCS foes, but they ultimately fell short on both occasions. Still, the Knights have plenty to play for, as they've yet to play a Conference USA game. On Sunday, head coach George O'Leary said he is keeping his guys focused on what lies ahead, via the Orland Sentinal:

"The kids understand conference play starts on Thursday and that's really a good thing coming off a tough game like we just had with Missouri."

The Knights open league play against East Carolina, which is 2-0 in C-USA games. The game is particularly important because the Pirates are in UCF's division, and a loss would make finishing first a bit more difficult.

Central Florida is expected to win comfortably by sportsbooks – it opened as a 13½-point favorite. UCF is 2-2 overall in 2012, with wins over Akron and Florida International.
