The Central Florida Knights exploded in the first half for 35 points, en route to a 49-24 win over the UAB Blazers. The win gives the Knights a berth in the Conference USA title game, where they'll face the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. That game will take place on Saturday, Dec. 1.
Blake Bortles went 17-of-23 for 225 yards and two touchdowns for the Knights. Latavious Murray rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown to lead the team, and Quincy McDuffie had 79 yards and three touchdowns to do most of the scoring for the Knights.
Oddly enough, UAB outgained UCF 599-473. However, they turned the ball over twice, while UCF didn't cough it up at all. Jonathan Perry threw for 307 yards, and Austin Brown threw for 204 yards. Patrick Hearn was the primary beneficiary of that explosive passing output, reeling in nine catches for 206 yards and a touchdown. Darrin Reeves had 122 all-purpose yards and a touchdown.
