The Central Florida Knights beat the SMU Mustangs on Saturday night, 42-17, and held onto their lead in Conference USA's East Division. The Knights are 5-0 in conference play, and 7-2 overall. However, they shouldn't get too comfortable, as East Carolina is right on their heels at 5-1 in the conference. UCF beat East Carolina 40-20 on Oct. 4 to give the Pirates their only conference loss so far this year.
In the West Division, Tulsa holds a two-game lead over SMU and Houston, and are a virtual lock to appear in the conference title game. Tulsa and UCF square off on Nov. 17 in Oklahoma.
