UCF accepts invite to Beef O'Brady's Bowl

Central Florida will play a team from the Big East in the Beef O'Brady's Bowl on Dec. 21.

Central Florida will represent Conference USA in the 2012 Beef O' Brady's Bowl on Dec. 21. The Knights will play a team from the Big East at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla. and the game will be televised on ESPN.

Central Florida finished the season with a 9-4 record overall and were 7-1 in conference play. The Knights won the Conference USA East division for the fourth time in eight years but fell to Tulsa, 33-27, in the conference championship game on Saturday.

Central Florida's last bowl game was in 2010 when they won its first-ever bowl game by defeating Georgia, 10-6, in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl. Running back Latavius Murray was the MVP in the 2010 Liberty Bowl and leads the time in rushing this season with 1,035 yards and 16 touchdowns.

The Knights are led by quarterback Blake Bortles who has thrown for 2,787 yards and 22 touchdowns this season.
