The Bulls had a 36-31 lead over Syracuse with 1:23 remaining in the game before the Orange marched down the field on their final possession and scored a touchdown with three seconds left to secure a 37-36 win.
South Florida has lost its last two games to Syracuse and undefeated Louisville by a combined three points.
The Bulls have now lost six games in a row. The team's last win came on Sept. 8 versus Nevada, 32-31.
At 0-4 in conference play, South Florida is in last place in the Big East and will play 0-3 Connecticut next Saturday in a game where one of the two teams will get its first conference win.
