UConn vs. USF 2012: Bulls get ugly win over Huskies

South Florida ended a six-game losing streak on Saturday.

South Florida ended its six-game losing streak on Saturday when the Bulls defeated Connecticut ,13-6, at home to improve to 1-4 in conference play.

USF Matt of Voodoo Five summarized the game:

It was about as ugly a win as you could imagine, but it was still a win, and that means USF's faint hopes of reaching a bowl are still alive.
With the loss, Connecticut is 3-6 on the season overall and 0-4 in conference play.

The Bulls are now 3-6 and have to win their next three versus Miami (FL), Cincinnati and Pittsburgh to be bowl eligible this season. However, starting quarterback B.J. Daniels will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a broken ankle in the fourth quarter on Saturday. Daniels scored the only touchdown of the game on a five-yard run in the first quarter.

Freshman Matt Floyd replaced Daniels in the lineup and was 1-of-3 passing for three yards. The Bulls have a bye to prepare Floyd for his first career start versus Miami (FL) on Nov. 17.
