New South Florida Bulls football coach Willie Taggart's early schedule just got a little more difficult. As Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports, the Bulls' scheduled Thanksgiving weekend game against the Miami Hurricanes has been rescheduled to Sept. 28, 2013, instead of Nov. 30. It's the third season in a row the in-state rivalry game has been moved up in the schedule.
It could prove to be a tough first few weeks for Taggart, who was recently hired away from Western Kentucky, where he was the head coach since 2010. The Bulls play at Michigan State on Sept. 7 in the second week of the season. South Florida opens with McNeese State at home on Aug. 30 and returns from playing the Spartans to host Florida Atlantic on Sept. 14. Sept. 21 is open, which could serve as a bye before the game with the Hurricanes the following week.
The Big East likes to have its big interconference games scheduled for late in the season, which is why the Bulls' last two games with the Hurricanes was moved up in the schedule.
