South Florida Bulls wide receiver Chris Dunkley has been suspended indefinitely from the team following a late Saturday night arrest on charges of domestic violence battery.
ESPN.com's Brett McMurphy reports that the sophomore was arrested just hours after the Bulls lost their Saturday meeting with the Florida State Seminoles, 30-17. The arrest reportedly stems from a late-September incident involving Dunkley's girlfriend, according to official records.
Bulls coach Skip Holtz suspended the wide receiver indefinitely on Sunday.
"Our players have an obligation to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner on and off the field," Holtz said in a statement released by the university. "Due to the serious nature of this matter, we have suspended Chris indefinitely from all team activities."
After transferring from the Florida Gators to South Florida in 2010, Dunkley had caught four balls for 93 yards and a touchdown in 2012. In the Bulls' loss to the Seminoles, Dunkley caught one pass for 10 yards.
